The club was formed in 1873

Due to the second world war the club temporarily closed its doors, the club was reformed in 1954 and has gone from strength to strength since that date.

The club has played at several venues in and around the Millom area.

From 1954 to 1971 rugby was played on Moor Fields until in 1971 the committee was offered the old school house at Haverigg. This would serve as the clubhouse for around 16 very memorable seasons. Moving to Haverigg would mean finding new turf to play rugby upon and Fred Hunter kindly came up with the solution.

In 1987 the club closed the old school house which had become too costly to maintain. The committee purchased the playing field from Fred Hunter with a view to putting a new clubhouse on the field..

With grants and other funding the club built (opened in Sept 1991) the clubhouse at the top of the field that we purchased from Fred.

The club has since been modified and extended with more plans to change the layout for our current needs.
